Live Views From Baldy Are Back!

Earlier today, Gary, our VP of Engineering, worked his awesome magic and restored the SPRTV webcam located on Bald Mountain, after an outage while we changed broadband internet service providers. A few hours later, we are totally stoked that the live feed from Baldy is also back on our website! To see it, navigate to “For Fun” in the menu at the top of any page. Then select “Live From Baldy” from the drop down menu that appears. One caveat … Sorry, but because of the web technology we’re using with our webcam, the live view will very likely not display on your smartphone or tablet. But enjoy the views on any PC or Mac!

We’ve just received word from Neil Best, KUNC station manager, that “the High Park wildfire west of Fort Collins has taken KUNC off the air. Don’t know if it is just the power lines that are down or if the antenna and/or transmission line has been damaged. Fire started yesterday and is already over 8,000 acres.” KUNC is  broadcast on 88.1 and 88.7 in Summit County as part of the SPRTV’s family of FM stations; and has not been affected.  If an outage affecting Summit County were to occur, Summit County residents and visitors can also stream KUNC on-line here. FYI:  An update one hour ago from a Ft. Collins Coloradan reporter stated “The High Park Fire NW of Fort Collins exploded from nothing to 10,000 acres in less than 24...

Terese became a foster parent in the mid-90s, when she heard there weren’t enough in Summit County. To read the article in full and learn more about how you could volunteer as a foster parent in Summit County, click here.  And thanks, Terese, for everything you’re doing as a foster...
