Webcam Adjustments

Any of you who are taking the occasional look at our webcam on Baldy Mountain in Breckenridge, Colorado, may have noticed some changes. Last week we changed the camera exposure setting from fixed to automatic in an effort to prolong the time that there is a viewable image. In the morning and evening we were getting an all black image even though there was still light on the mountain. We seem to have accomplished our goal at the slight expense of getting some wider exposure swings during the day as clouds roll by. One more problem we experienced was icing on the protective case which blocked our image until the sun burned it off.  We’re curious as to the effects of the snow once winter really sets in.

Here’s the link to the webcam.
