SPRTV Collaborates with CMC, KUVO and Yamamoto Photography to Present Series of Classes on CUBA 1Q12
Beginning on Saturday, January 21, 2012 there will be a series of classes at CMC Breckenridge, CUBA: SEEN and HEARD. Photographers Jon Yamamoto and Ellie Ludgivsen visited Cuba in December 2010; their collection of photographs form the centerpiece of a series of classes on Cuba. Cuban Music, Cuban Food, Arts, Culture and People of Cuba, Cuban Cinema will each be presented on Saturday evenings in January, February and March 2012. Summit Select Invitational Art Exhibit & Sale – Sun Nov 13
SPRTV volunteers will be participating in the Summit Select Invitational Art Exhibit & Sale on Sunday, Nov 13, at the Summit County Senior Center in Frisco from 1-7 pm. This annual art exhibition and sale is also a fundraiser for the Summit County Arts Exhibit Committee; specifically to help fund an annual Summit County High School Art Scholarship. This event showcases the unique works of ten of Summit County’s best artists. And provides a great opportunity to purchase gifts for the upcoming holidays. Something Interesting from the Academy of Lifelong Learning
One of our Board members has informed us about an event that might interest you. On November 9th there will be a lecture entitled, “The Future of Government Sponsored Public Radio” given by Max Wycisk, President of Colorado Public Radio. He will share his experiences at KCFR and guide us through the current media frenzy and issues surrounding government sponsored radio. There will be a charge of $8 for non-members. Summit Public Radio & TV Sports a New Logo
This week we introduced a new logo for Summit Public Radio & TV. It was designed by a professional graphic designer along with new letterhead. We’ll use these designs on all future publications and correspondence to achieve a consistent look and hopefully a recognizable branding. The logo was based on a photograph of Bald Mountain in Breckenridge where our electronics site is located. The photograph, as seen in the banner for this blog, will continue to be used for the blog, our website, and other publications where a photograph works better than a graphic. Summit Public Radio & TV would like to inform folks residing, working and visiting Summit County that 3 FM radio and all 7 free, over-the-air TV stations will be periodically off-the-air this week. The stations in Summit County affected are: FM Radio - 89.3 KCME - 94.3 KBCO - 99.1 & 107.1 KQSE TV (Free, Over-The-Air Antenna) - 8 analog KCNC - 10.1 digital KMGH - 10.2 digital KCNC - 10.3 digital KUSA - 10.4 digital KRMA - 10.5 digital KCFR - 12 analog KUSA Periodic outages will be likely during the working hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm, July 25-29.
