FM & TV Station Outages July 25-29

Summit Public Radio & TV would like to inform folks residing, working and visiting Summit County that 3 FM radio and all 7 free, over-the-air TV stations will be periodically off-the-air this week.

The stations in Summit County affected are:

FM Radio
- 89.3 KCME
- 94.3 KBCO
- 99.1 & 107.1 KQSE

TV (Free, Over-The-Air Antenna)
- 8 analog KCNC
- 10.1 digital KMGH
- 10.2 digital KCNC
- 10.3 digital KUSA
- 10.4 digital KRMA
- 10.5 digital KCFR
- 12 analog KUSA

Periodic outages will be likely during the working hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm, July 25-29.

These outages are due to critical power line maintenance being performed to improve the reliability of SPRTV’s FM and TV translator systems located on Bald Mountain overlooking Breckenridge.  Unfortunately, the power line issues to be remedied by this maintenance work did not allow for advanced notice, and must be performed during our short summer season.

While SPRTV has a state-of-the-art, solar-generated power backup system on Bald Mountain for relatively short power outages, these maintenance power outages are simply too long to allow all these stations to remain on the air at the same time.

SPRTV would also like to extend a sincere apology for any inconvenience to our listeners and viewers of these affected stations, and would like to thank everyone affected in Summit County for their patience.

Summit Public Radio & TV is a member supported, all volunteer, not for profit organization that provides 10 FM and 7 TV stations Summit County, CO – including all the free, over-the-air antenna TV broadcasts.  More information about SPRTV and an interactive guide to all the FM radio and free over-the-air TV stations in Summit County is available at sprtv.org/guide.
