KUVO Off-the-Air, Repairs Scheduled

UPDATED … SPRTV would like to announce that FM/HD radio station KUVO is currently off-the-air.  Electronics equipment owned by KUVO has unexpectedly failed and will need to be replaced. Unfortunately, significant delays are expected in obtaining the necessary repair equipment (which was ordered right away). Consequently, we now estimate the earliest that repairs can be attempted is in early Feb, weather and safe travel up Baldy permitting. Note these technical issues are not related to other station outages caused by wind damage on Bald Mountain back in early January. KBCO, KUVO Repairs on Baldy Scheduled for Jan 28

SPRTV is happy to announce that Gary, our VP of Engineering and Site Maintenance, and Colin, will attempt repairs to radio stations KBCO and KUVO this Saturday, Jan 28, weather and safety permitting. The delay has been due to issues obtaining the necessary electronics gear to make the repairs, and not weather conditions on Bald Mountain. After obtaining the necessary repair gear this week, Gary, our VP of Engineering and Site Maintenance, and Colin, will attempt repairs this Saturday, Jan 28, weather and safety permitting. FM & TV Station Outages July 25-29

Summit Public Radio & TV would like to inform folks residing, working and visiting Summit County that 3 FM radio and all 7 free, over-the-air TV stations will be periodically off-the-air this week. The stations in Summit County affected are: FM Radio - 89.3 KCME - 94.3 KBCO - 99.1 & 107.1 KQSE TV (Free, Over-The-Air Antenna) - 8 analog KCNC - 10.1 digital KMGH - 10.2 digital KCNC - 10.3 digital KUSA - 10.4 digital KRMA - 10.5 digital KCFR - 12 analog KUSA Periodic outages will be likely during the working hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm, July 25-29. These outages are due to critical power line maintenance being performed to improve the reliability of SPRTV’s FM and TV translator systems located on Bald Mountain overlooking...

As of Wednesday, the technical problems with providing KUVO have been resolved, and we hope you are enjoying KUVO’s programming on 89.7 FM again in Summit County. Unfortunately, we are still having technical issues with providing the HD radio programming from KUVO.  SPRTV remains committed to resolve these technical issues as soon as possible. We apologize again for any inconvenience to our KUVO HD radio listeners, and would like to thank them for their patience until our HD radio service can be restored. KUVO (89.7 FM) Still Off-The-Air

Unfortunately, KUVO still remains off-the-air in Summit County.  Despite our chief engineer hiking up Bald Mountain yesterday to the SPRTV electronics site, and working all-day with KUVO support engineers. SPRTV remains committed to resolve these technical issues as soon as possible. We apologize again for any inconvenience, and would like to thank all our KUVO listeners for their patience until service can be restored.
